Thiruvananthapuram: Ending eight days of suspense, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Abdul Nasser Madhani was Tuesday arrested for his alleged involvement in the 2008 Bangalore bombings amid emotional scenes at the orphanage run by him as a large number of children wept and kissed him goodbye.

Madhani was driven to the airport from where he is expected to be flown to Bangalore in the evening. The police asked for extra security at the airport here and a separate lounge has been readied.

Madhani said :“You now wait and see. Once I am there in Karnataka, you should not be surprised if my name features in a case in Gujarat or even the Mumbai bomb blasts and even in the World Trade Centre blast,”

2008 Bangalore serial blasts occurred on 25 July 2008 in Bangalore, India.
A series of nine bombs exploded in which two people were killed and 20 injured.
According to the Bangalore City Police, the blasts were caused by low-intensity crude bombs triggered by timers.

Bangalore is the information technology hub of India with more than 40% of the country’s IT and software industry based there.

Serial Blasts in Bangalore has took place today.

7 Serial bomb blasts rocked Nayandahalli, Madivala, Adugodi areas of Banglore city on Friday.
One woman was killed and several have been injured. According to Rediff.com , Gelatin sticks appear to have been used in the bangalore bomb blast.

CAT Entrance exam to be held again:
CAT Entrance exam for IIMs to be held again written test format if sources are to be believed.

The news has been re-confirmed today by the latest statement issued by IIM Ahmedabad.

Reasons of Cat Online Format Failure:
It may be noted that Common Admission Test of IIMs in the Online format has been under criticism this year due to various issues. To explain the ‘genuine reasons’ Prometric says, “Candidates at various locations experienced different technical difficulties that were related to the viruses.”

The reasons cited for conducting the written format (pen pencil format test) are:

(1) Ensure that each candidate is given a fair chance to write the test
(2) Test at the end is a fair one
(3) The questions in online exam it is said that are from bank of coaching classes. It is obviously not possible for IIMs to generate thousands of questions for online test. In the written test same set of limited question are given to candidates and which makes the exam more fair.’

The declaration in this regard will be announced either today or tomorrow. So there may be two CAT exams in 2010!

The health of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao, whose fast-unto-death entered the 10th day Tuesday, has begun deteriorating, doctors warned as protests demanding a separate Telangana state continued across the region.

KCR in NIIMS:

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, is at the state-run Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where doctors have warned that continuing the hunger strike could endanger his life. NIMS director Prasada Rao told reporters that the reports of KCR’s blood tests showed signs of deterioration and asked him to immediately call off the fast.

Continuing the fast could lead to serious problems, he said. “What sort of problems, we can’t say but this could endanger his life,” he said.

A team of doctors monitoring KCR’s health has asked his family members to convince him to end the fast.

He is currently on support therapy. But after a certain stage even the medicines will not work. He has to start taking food immediately, Rao said.

Doctors had so far maintained that KCR was stable but weak.

KCR Health Condition:
As the TRS chief’s health took a turn for the worse, protests demanding a separate state and sporadic incidents of violence continued across the region. Supporters of the Telangana movement, including students, took out rallies and observed relay hunger strikes.

The protestors also set afire two government offices in Nalgonda and Adilabad districts.

The TRS has appealed to all Congress legislators from Telangana region to resign in support of the demand for a separate state.

Supporting the demand, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and activists staged a sit-in at the main entrance of the state assembly here.
